šŸ” You don't own your own listing.

šŸ” You don't own your own listing.

Right now, sellers are trying to fix a typo on a product they built, and Amazon blocks them completely.

People believe this is a glitch or a support failure that a ticket will solve.

What is actually happening is that Amazon runs the catalog on a contribution hierarchy, and your edit lost to someone with a higher score.

Here is how the system behaves.

Every contributor carries a score from 0 to 100, and on each attribute, the title, the brand name, the images, the highest score wins. When two contributors submit different values for the same field, Amazon keeps the higher score and rejects the other automatically.

A seller without Brand Registry sits at 30 points. A seller enrolled sits at 52. That gap is the whole story.

Brand Registry connects your registered trademark to your brand's master record, the layer above your individual listings. It does not run on sales volume, it runs on an exact-match trademark check. Enrolling lifts you from 30 to 52, and that climb places your edits above the open catalog, with editing rights, the Report a Violation tool, and access to A+ Content and Stores.

So what can you do with this?

I break down the pyramid of contributions, the most common issues related to brand registry, and the full enrollment sequence, including the out-of-order steps that sink applications.
