People who can’t interview well are finding it a lot more difficult to hire.

We heard this recently:

“They didn’t show this skill xyz”

Me: “which question do you think was their opportunity to show it?”

Unfortunately I believe the vast majority of people conducting hiring interviews simply don’t have enough skill in interviewing

The objective is to extract information from the candidate

Which sometimes means you have to dig a little bit

You can’t just expect it to always come to you with your initial question

Cus that can easily be misinterpreted

And as a result the interview is basically a waste of time.

We see so many great candidates overlooked because of this

Especially when factoring in the additional challenge of both parties being from different cultures.

An American or Brit might be super confident and throw the kitchen sink when answering a question

But someone from India or Philippines or wherever might just answer the question and not naturally roll it into giving more data/examples

We attend every interview we arrange at Pare

As such we have lots of learnings and experience in what good and bad looks like on both sides. But also we can make suggestions at the end to both sides too.

Which might lead to another interview which ends up being a success.

A successful interview is success for both parties. Time well spent. A good outcome. A hire.
