Seen this happen before Prime Day:

Automated bid rules that make sense on a normal day?

Totally wreck an account during high-traffic promos.

Not because they’re broken...

because they weren’t built for this kind of volatility.

Couple things to check 👇

→ Lookback windows

If your rules are reacting to a 7-day average, they might slow bids when Prime Day performance is actually strong.

Shorten it. Or pause it.

→ Rule logic

What works on a random Tuesday might kill momentum on Prime Day.

Especially if it’s set to cut bids fast when ROAS dips (it will, temporarily).

→ Aggressive auto-bidders

Tools that change bids 5–10x/day sound cool until they tank your scaling window.

Volatility + constant inputs = chaos.

Also: some tools reset your setup if you pause them.

(Yes, seriously.)

If you’re gonna pause automation, test it first.

Automation's great

until it isn’t.

Don’t let “smart” rules kill your best sales days.
