Your title is about to be rewritten by AI.
Starting July 27, 2026, Amazon is enforcing a 75-character limit on product titles across ALL CATEGORIES except media.
So if your title is over that limit on that date, Amazon will apply an AI-generated version automatically, and your listing stays active while that happens.
Don't take this as a ranking penalty or a suppression event, because it is not. The listing won't go dark, but it will be replaced by a system that doesn't know your product the way you do.
Amazon is doing all this to standardize title display on mobile screens, where long titles are already truncated anyway.
And for me, the 75-character limit reflects how search results render on the devices where most purchases happen.
The AI-generated replacement pulls from your existing listing data, but it prioritizes brevity over the keyword logic you may have spent months building.
There is also a new field called Item Highlights, which gives you 125 characters for materials, use cases, and differentiators, and don't worry, because this content is searchable and visible in search results and on product detail pages. The character limit on titles shrinks, but the total indexable real estate does not disappear, it shifts.
Brand owners have a 14-day review window before AI recommendations go live under Review Listing Changes in Seller Central. That window is the control point. Use it, please
So now is your time to go to Manage All Inventory, open each listing, click View Enhancements, and write your own 75-character title before Amazon writes one for you. Move the displaced content into Item Highlights deliberately, not as an afterthought.
If you want this handled correctly, we can take that off your plate: https://lnkd.in/d42XHFQC
You have until July 27. Sellers who act before the deadline will control the output, while those who wait will review AI suggestions on a 14-day clock.
