🚨 Amazon Is Rewriting Product Titles Starting July 27
This may be one of the most significant listing optimization updates Amazon has made in years.
Beginning July 27, 2026, product titles across all non-media categories must be 75 characters or fewer (including spaces).
If your titles exceed the limit, Amazon may automatically replace them with AI-generated recommendations.
Here's what brands need to know:
â–ş Titles longer than 75 characters will no longer comply with Amazon requirements
â–ş Amazon may begin automatically updating non-compliant titles using AI-generated recommendations
â–ş Brand owners will have a 14-day review window to approve, modify, or reject those changes
â–ş Additional product information can be moved to the new Item Highlights section, which supports up to 125 characters and remains searchable
Why is Amazon making this change?
According to Amazon, shorter titles improve the mobile shopping experience, help titles display more consistently across devices, and create a cleaner shopping experience across marketplaces.
What should brands do now?
→ Audit your catalog for titles over 75 characters
→ Review Amazon's AI-generated title recommendations in Manage All Inventory
→ Move secondary keywords, materials, and use cases into Item Highlights
→ Develop a title optimization strategy before Amazon's AI develops one for you
