Every brand asking about GEO is starting in the wrong place.
They want to know about Reddit, Wikipedia, backlinks. But if your own website isn't built on solid schema and a strong SEO foundation, Reddit and Wikipedia don't do anything.
Your direct to consumer website has to be up to snuff first. A solid schema and SEO foundation that's built out.
From there: quality sites, quality links, Reddit, Wikipedia, review sites, quality blogs. But they're the second layer. Not the first.
Everyone I talk to wants to start on the second layer.
Your own website is what you have the most control over. Start there. Get the schema right before you touch anything else.
