Every auto campaign dumps dirt and gold into the same pile
A filter is the only thing that separates them
That filter is not decoration
It is the decision engine
behind a clean Amazon ad account
Raw search terms pour in
from your auto campaign
and most of them are noise
Terms that get clicks but no sales
Terms that convert once by pure accident
Terms that drain budget and lead nowhere
Leave them alone and you keep paying for every one
The filter does one job
It holds every search term to a standard
before it earns a manual campaign
Clear the bar and it drops
through as a qualifying keyword
Fall short and it stays dirt
right where it belongs
Notice the broad match screen is tighter than the rest
That is on purpose
Broad pulls in loose
messy traffic
so the gold has to shine brighter to prove it is real
A keyword that survives a stricter filter
is one you can trust with a bigger bid
The hard part starts after the gold lands in the tray
The second a term earns its own campaign
negate it back in the auto campaign that found it
Otherwise both campaigns
chase the same keyword
and you pay twice for one sale
Negation is mosquito repellent for your ad spend
Use it
Set the standard high and the system polices itself
The dirt washes out
The gold compounds
Your manual campaigns end up
holding nothing but proven winners
This is the line between a busy ad account and a profitable one
Cheap sellers spray and pray
Smart sellers build a filter and only pay for the gold
