I sold on Amazon as a brand owner for years before starting Prime Team Agency. I've never seen a worse environment to be a $1M-$10M seller in. The four things keeping our clients growing:

1. Treat Amazon like a full-time operation, not a channel.

Your listings can get flagged overnight, health scorecards can tank without warning, and the vendor manager you used to call doesn't exist anymore. If nobody on your team is monitoring the account daily and fixing issues in real time, you fall behind fast and stay stuck.

2. Hold 12 weeks of Amazon inventory at all times.

Most DTC founders think in 30-day windows and Amazon punishes that hard. A viral moment with two weeks of stock plummets your ranking, and you spend months trying to get it back.

3. Stop trying to launch on Amazon alone.

Amazon ads only get profitable once people are searching your brand name directly. Generic category searches are too expensive to launch against cold, and Amazon isn't where people discover new brands. They discover them on TikTok and Meta and then go to Amazon to buy.

The brands winning right now are seeding 300 to 500 creators a month on TikTok Shop and putting GMV Max behind whatever converts. When one of our clients went viral, their branded Amazon searches jumped over 500% in a single month.

4. Raise prices in the right sequence.

Freight costs are up, COGS are up, and most brands haven't modeled what a 30% freight increase does to their unit economics. If you also sell through Walmart and Target, raise those prices first. Move Amazon first and you'll lose the Buy Box on top of everything else.
