Every ops tool you use?
Quietly pushing you toward the wrong folder structure.
ClickUp wants you to split by space.
Google Drive wants you to split by marketplace.
Your project management tool wants you to split by team.
So you end up with:
/Amazon/ClientA
/Walmart/ClientA
/TikTok/ClientA
Looks tidy.
⤷ Breaks the second a new team member tries to find anything.
The unit of ownership is the client.
Not the channel.
When a brand manager opens a folder, the question they're answering is "what's the full picture on this client?" → not "what's happening on Amazon this week across all clients?"
The handoff test is the real test.
Hand a new strategist a single client folder.
Can they answer 80% of questions without opening another tab?
If no, you organized for filtering, not for ownership.
Practical version?
Top level: client
Second level: function (creative, ads, ops, reports)
Third level: channel only if the client is actually multi-channel
Most of your clients are Amazon-only anyway.
The channel split is noise on the front of every folder name.
Strip it.
