Amazon has introduced location targeting for Sponsored TV campaigns, including radius-based targeting options directly inside campaign setup.

Earlier, STV targeting was primarily focused around audiences, demographics, and broader behavioral signals. With this update, advertisers can now narrow campaign delivery using geographic targeting, including city-level and radius-based coverage.

The interface now allows advertisers to search locations, apply radius targeting, and define localized delivery zones directly during campaign setup. This brings STV closer to how location targeting already operates across other digital advertising environments.

This is especially important for businesses where geography directly impacts conversion behavior, such as local retail, regional service providers, events, dealerships, franchises, healthcare networks, restaurants, and market-specific promotions.

It also changes how upper-funnel TV inventory can be used operationally. Earlier, Streaming TV campaigns were mostly treated as broad awareness channels. With geographic controls layered into audience targeting, advertisers can now align STV campaigns much more closely with localized demand, inventory availability, regional launches, or city-specific campaigns.

For larger brands, this also creates more flexibility around market-level budget allocation and regional testing strategies, especially when combined with Amazon’s growing AI-driven audience and full-funnel optimization systems.
