You add Data Dive Tools. Then SmartScout. Then Helium 10.

You ask Claude Code for keyword research.

It hits all 3. For 1 task.

Welcome to the hidden tax of stacking integrations.

Every overlapping tool gets called by default unless you explicitly tell the agent when to use which one and why.

The fix is one paragraph in your CLAUDE.md (or system prompt, or rules file → whatever your stack calls it):

"Use Datadive for keyword discovery & search volume. Use SmartScout for brand & category share. Use Helium 10 only for listing audits. Never call more than one for the same question."

That's it.

Without that paragraph you are paying 2-3x for every query and getting noisier answers because the agent now has to reconcile three different opinions.

This applies far beyond Amazon tools.

Notion + Drive + Dropbox for files.

ClickUp + Asana + Linear during a migration.

Two competing CRMs.

If two tools answer the same question, the agent needs a tiebreaker rule.

Otherwise you're burning credits on indecision.
