One of the biggest misconceptions Shopify brands have about Amazon is assuming their product is “too premium” to succeed there.
I hear this constantly.
Brands assume:
• the category is too saturated
• Amazon customers only buy low-cost products
• premium positioning won’t convert
• lower conversion rates mean the platform is wrong for them
I don’t think that’s the right way to look at it.
Even if your product converts differently because of pricing, customers are still searching for your brand on Amazon.
That matters.
The goal is not always to dominate every broad keyword immediately.
The goal is to:
• capture existing demand
• identify profitable keyword segments
• understand customer search behavior
• optimize positioning
• rank where your economics make sense
A premium product can absolutely work on Amazon when the listing, branding, and keyword strategy align correctly.
In many cases, completely avoiding Amazon just creates opportunity for competitors and resellers to intercept your demand.
That’s why understanding:
• keyword intent
• conversion behavior
• pricing psychology
• listing optimization
…becomes so important.
That’s a huge part of what we analyze with DataDive: https://lnkd.in/e2h4mCJ2
Do you think too many premium Shopify brands still underestimate Amazon’s opportunity?
