How to get the most out of your agency relationship.

I’ve owned multiple agencies and I’ve also been on the brand side working with agencies myself. After years of seeing both sides, I’ve learned something important:

The brands that get the BEST work from agencies are not always the ones spending the most money.

They’re the ones that treat people well.

Be demanding.

Have high standards.

Expect accountability.

But be respectful. Don’t be an asshole.

At Prime Team Agency we’re fortunate to work with some incredible clients. The clients who are kind, collaborative, and respectful are the ones my team wants to run through walls for.

And the opposite is true too.

The clients who treat agency teams poorly, act like bullies, or create toxic environments almost always end up cycling through agency after agency wondering why nothing works.

Here’s the reality:

Yes, agencies provide a service.

But agency teams are still people.

The relationship matters.

The best results happen when there’s trust, respect, communication, and a shared goal — not fear or hostility.

We recently had an in-person meeting with one of our clients who is genuinely kind to everyone they interact with. My team constantly goes above and beyond for them because they appreciate and respect the partnership.

Kindness doesn’t lower standards.

It actually raises performance.

Something more brands should understand.
