"Just start over and create a new account."

That is actual advice being given by Amazon Support reps to sellers failing international verification, but it happens on other cases, too.

It’s not just wrong; it’s account or appeal suicide. And it is a consistent recommendation given out, as if no one ever checks these calls or messages for veracity.

When you move into new regional marketplaces and verification of your identity hits a snag, you’re entering a world of "half-complete conversations" with internal teams. And boilerplate denial language.

Whether it’s identity investigations or VAT issues, the generic responses tell you nothing.

Calls to Account Health reps to find out what doc is missing, why a complete roster of documentation was ignored or rejected, or simply why you get denied no matter what, you get an entire phonebook full of conflicting info.

Here’s the reality:

Account Health reps are often guessing, don't have access to the right info, or they just blame the fact that investigators gave them nothing to go on. Often, they don't sound confident that prior appeals were read.

SAS Core managers don’t always have the answers for international compliance.

Escalations to Managing Directors are taking longer than ever. Many bounce back as the "wrong channel" to appeal to. Bad experiences...

The "wheels are coming off the cart" inside some of these internal teams. They aren't seeing the info you need to help you resolve the back and forth churn.

If you’re waiting for Amazon to guide you through the resulting maze, you’ve already lost.
