Amazon vendor teams are covering too much ground with too few people.
And the gaps don't show up immediately.
They show up six months later, a missed fill rate target, an Ad campaign left running on the wrong settings, or a compliance issue that generated a chargeback nobody caught in time.
The problem isn't commitment from the team, it's just that Amazon vendor management is genuinely quite broad and most teams have never mapped what they're actually responsible for task by task.
5 questions I'd ask to assess your team's real capability:
Who owns fill rate monitoring and are they checking it at the right cadence?
Does your Ads lead have clear ROAS targets and the authority to pause spend?
When a chargeback lands, what's the process and how often do you win disputes?
Does anyone on your team have a working understanding of Net PPM and how their decisions move it?
What does your onboarding process look like for someone new to Amazon vendor management?
The honest answer to that last one is usually... we don't really have one.
A team that doesn't understand the commercial model makes decisions that feel operationally correct but lose margin without anyone noticing.
