Not sure which product variation to advertise?
Start with all of them.
Yes, all of them.
Not forever.
Just long enough to collect real data.
Because when you have zero performance history, picking the “best” variation is usually just guessing with confidence.
Launch every variation in the same ad group.
Let the clicks, CVR, spend, and orders tell you what buyers actually want.
Then after 2–4 weeks, review by variation:
→ Which ones got orders?
→ Which ones converted best?
→ Which ones burned spend and gave you nothing back?
Pause the losers.
Push more budget into the winners.
But here’s the caveat most sellers miss:
Search intent matters.
If the shopper searches “blue women’s yoga pants,” don’t show them black, green, and gray just because those variations exist.
Show blue.
Match the intent.
Amazon will not always choose your best variation for you.
I’ve seen the weakest variation in an ad group rack up clicks for no logical reason.
So don’t hand that decision to the algorithm.
Use the algorithm for data.
