Amazon is quietly testing a new pricing signal.
Some listings are now showing a “High Price” label directly above the price.
→ It’s not widespread yet
→ Looks category-dependent
→ But it’s live.
Apparently, this tag is likely triggered by a few factors:
• Price is elevated vs. historical benchmarks
• The same product is cheaper off-Amazon (including shipping)
• Other Amazon sellers are offering it at a meaningfully lower price
There’s no official documentation from Amazon yet, so this is based on observed behavior, not confirmed rules.
But directionally, it’s clear:
⤷ Pricing transparency is tightening, and Amazon is getting more aggressive in calling it out.
