We audited 10 Amazon accounts last week.

Different products.

Different budgets.

One seller at $3K/month.

Another at $18K.

Completely different categories.

7 out of 10 had the same problem.

Broad match on their best products.

Here’s what broad match actually does:

It tells Amazon “find me anything remotely related to this.”

Selling a stainless steel insulated water bottle?

You’re now bidding on searches for plastic cups.

Coffee mugs.

Thermoses from brands you have zero business competing with.

Clicks are coming in.

Seller Central looks fine on the surface.

But TACoS creeps up.

ACoS stays elevated.

Revenue doesn’t follow.

The fix doesn’t take long:

→ Pull your search term report

→ Find what’s actually converting

→ Identify your 3-5 best non-branded exact match keywords

→ Put real budget behind those

→ Negative out the rest

Most sellers skip this because automation feels easier.

But if your ad spend has been flat or climbing and sales aren’t moving with it…

This is where to start.
