Four of the biggest names in commerce reported earnings inside a 120-minute wind

Four of the biggest names in commerce reported earnings inside a 120-minute window last night. Google. Meta. Amazon. Microsoft. A first in internet stock history.

Scot Wingo over at Retailgentic counted 20 mentions of "agentic commerce" across the calls. Twenty.

Here's what actually matters if you sell online:

1. UCP won the standards war. Universal Commerce Protocol just added Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Stripe to the Tech Council. Shopify, Etsy, Target, Wayfair already in. OpenAI's ACP got steamrolled. If you sell DTC, your product data needs to be UCP-ready. Now.

2. Rufus is converting like crazy. Jassy dropped three numbers: → 115% growth in monthly active users → 400% YoY growth in engagement → 20% of shoppers who hit a Brand Prompt convert with that brand

He sounded downright giddy. That tells you the conversion data behind the scenes is even better than what he shared.

3. Sponsored Prompts are the next PPC frontier. Multi-turn agentic conversations = multiple ad surfaces inside a single shopping journey. If you're not testing Sponsored Prompts, you're already behind.

4. Ulta is live. Ulta Beauty just launched agentic commerce inside Google's AI Mode, Search, AND the Gemini app. Sephora and Macy's are next. This isn't theory anymore.

5. Meta is going creator-affiliate. Partnership Ads doubled to a $10B run rate. Affiliate tagging rolling out on Facebook, testing on Instagram. Creators become the discovery layer. TikTok Shop's playbook, on Meta's surfaces.

6. Zuck threw down. Said no other AI lab is building "an AI that's really good at shopping." Whether you believe him or not, Meta is investing like he means it.

The seller action items:

✅ Audit your product data for UCP / agent-readiness

✅ Build for Rufus: A+ content, structured data, brand prompts

✅ Start testing Sponsored Prompts on Amazon

✅ Lock in your creator affiliate strategy on Meta before everyone else does

✅ Treat AEO/GEO like SEO in 2010 — early movers win.

We are not "preparing for" agentic commerce anymore. It's the quarter that just got reported.

Hat tip to Scot Wingo at Retailgentic for the breakdown. His full write-up is worth your time.

What are you doing this week to get agent-ready?
