EU retailers will remove your failing PDP images from their digital shelves

Are your PDP images ready for EN 301 549?

The European Accessibility Act is already in force.

What is the new EN 301 549 technical guideline? It defines exactly how compliance will be assessed and is due to be published by 1st August.

Once published, European Online retailers are most likely to remove imagery that doesn't meet the new measurable requirements.

Two criteria. BOTH measurable:

✅ Text size: minimum 2.4mm x-height

✅ Contrast: must pass WCAG minimum guidelines.

No more "we think it's fine."

No more eyeballing it on a desktop monitor.

If your text doesn't meet both, it fails. Simple as that.

French retailers are already facing litigation under EAA.

Failures in contrast & text size are high-visibility "low-hanging fruit"

EAA works differently - the burden of proof is on YOU to prove you pass to the retailer or they can refuse the risk and remove your PDP images.

PROVE IT... OR LOSE IT.

Do you have a way to test at scale and speed?

RHINO AI from Neem was built for exactly this.

Dr Sam Waller and I are hosting a live session TOMORROW to explain:

→ What the EAA requires

→ How EN 301 549 will be assessed

→ Consequences, Fines, and Penalties

→ Practical steps to prove compliance before August

The EAA states that non-compliance will lead to‘effective, proportionate & dissuasive’ penalties, in addition to requiring remedial action.

With Q&A so you can ask us directly.
