RECRUITERS: do you wish linkedin had a competitor? ➡️ To hold them accountable and to drive them into making a superior product?
Amazon is great because it drives brands to make the best "offer".
The offer is a combination of the product being sold, but price, delivery, etc.
With LinkedIn i feel we're all trapped into accepting a pretty average offer.
The product can be good. The price can be good. The delivery can be good.
But so often it falls short. But we just accept it because there is no other offer - realistically.
Look at what we're seeing with ChatGPT and Claude right now. We're all getting an unreal user experience because they are fierce competitors.
The same with Figma and Google.
It's brilliant.
But you only need to look at your inbox on linkedin to realise what an awful product this is. Where I'd argue there must be serious bloat in the company for it still to have not been fixed.
Maybe I'm grumpy. Maybe I've testing a new very expensive licence of theirs. Maybe it's an awful offer and I'm moaning like a newborn after more milk.
Maybe I'm right.
