Took time outside of Seattle this past weekend to enjoy perfect spring weather, see the sights on Highway 20 in the North Cascade Mountain region, and to gear up for another week of Amazon campus meetings.
Downtime is crucial to rest and reflect before the big upswing begins! And this is a crunch time of prep like we've never seen, given the various financial and operational challenges jumping up every five minutes.
With all of the brand owner events spinning through the space, it's a good time to reflect on the value of in-person meetings and in-depth discussions of what Amazon selling looks like through the pre-Prime Day period, setting yourself up for Q3/Q4.
Given the major influx of selling impacting news and additional hurdles for brands in 2026 (all hitting a couple months ahead of Prime Day) let's review what you need to ask yourself to avoid revenue loss, restriction headaches and other potential crises in the months ahead.
If another fee is thrown at us, are we ready? Can we restructure our ops or strategy and compensate for it?
If another ASIN gets flagged, whether properly or not, are we set to appeal it properly?
Will we be able to research causes and put together a strategy that solves it in hours not days? Days not weeks?
If you're asking buyers to leave product reviews, are you steady and sure with your policy knowledge, to be sure you're not breaking the rules?
Often, Amazon demands "dispute only" appeals, where you prove you did nothing wrong. Is that the case?
The margin for error is shrinking, and let’s be honest, Amazon isn't expanding it for you.
It’s time to move from a reactive posture to a proactive one, ensuring your documentation is airtight and your strategy is resilient enough to handle the "big upswing" without breaking.
