Your competitor's best images are your biggest advantage. And most sellers never

Your competitor's best images are your biggest advantage.

And most sellers never look at them.

Here's a strategy we use with every single client:

Before we create a single image, we study the top 10 listings in their category.

Not to copy them.

To find what they're MISSING.

Real example from 2 weeks ago:

Pet accessories brand. Competitive category. 40+ sellers on page 1.

We analyzed every image from the top 10 listings:

→ 9 out of 10 showed the product on a dog

→ 8 out of 10 had size comparison charts

→ 7 out of 10 showed durability claims

→ 0 out of 10 addressed the washing/cleaning question

Zero.

But when we checked the reviews across the category:

"How do you clean it?" appeared in 34% of all listings' Q&A sections.

That's a gap.

A big one.

So we made image 3 all about cleaning:

→ "Machine washable — toss it in and done"

→ Before and after washing photos

→ "Tested through 100+ washes"

That single image differentiated our client from every competitor on page 1.

Conversion rate: 14% (category average was 12%).

Here's the process:

Screenshot all images from the top 10 competitors

Map what each image covers (features, objections, social proof)

Read Q&A and reviews across the category for unaddressed questions

Find the gap between what competitors SHOW and what customers ASK

Build your creative strategy around that gap.

The gap is your advantage.

When every competitor shows the same angles, same callouts, same layouts, the shopper can't tell the difference.

They default to price and reviews.

But when YOUR listing answers the question nobody else addresses?

You become the obvious choice.

Stop designing images in a vacuum.

Start designing them against the competition.

The best creative strategy isn't about being better.

It's about being DIFFERENT where it matters.
