Most brands are using Amazon ads to hide a product problem. If your organic rank

Most brands are using Amazon ads to hide a product problem.

If your organic rank is falling, paying for Sponsored Ads doesn't fix the issue.

It makes your business unscalable and unprofitable.

Amazon's algorithm rewards sales rate, conversion rate and review quality.

Ads buy you visibility.

Which means ads alone don't buy you any of the things that actually drives performance.

So when I see a brand doubling ad spend to defend a top 10 position..I don't see a growth strategy.

Instead I see a brand that hasn't asked why conversion/sales have dropped in the first place.

I then move on to check these things..

Is the price right?

Is the content doing the heavy lifting?

Has a competitor improved their listing while yours stayed the same?

Are the reviews pulling the conversion rate down?

Fix these and then spend on ads to accelerate something that's already working.

Most brands do it the other way around.
