Amazon just removed the payment float on ad spend. Starting April 15, costs deduct from retail proceeds before you see a cent.

There's a $2,500 one-time buffer. That's it.

This is the kind of change that punishes brands running bloated campaigns with poor SKU-level margin visibility. If your Amazon ads aren't tied to contribution margin at the product level, you'll feel this fast.

An agency won't catch it in time. They're managing 30 other accounts.

A freelancer might flag it a week late. Maybe.

A senior operator embedded in your business — watching your catalog daily, tied to your P&L, not billing by the hour — catches this the day it drops and acts.

Craig at Spire put it well: "Really intimate updates… very prescriptive detail down into the product. In a lot of ways, we want him to tell us what we should do versus us tell him."

That's the difference between someone managing your campaigns and someone managing your Amazon business.

If this change is making you nervous about who's watching your ad spend, that's a signal worth paying attention to.
