Retention rate is the most underutilized metric in ecommerce

And it's costing brands millions

Everyone obsesses over conversion rate, CTR, ROAS, CAC

But nobody talks about how many customers actually stick around

A 5% increase in retention can increase profits by >25%

Yet most brands couldn't tell you their retention rate if you asked

They know their conversion rate down to the decimal but have no idea if customers come back

This is backwards

Acquiring a customer costs 5x more than retaining one

But brands spend 90% of their budget on acquisition and 10% on retention

Then wonder why they're on a growth treadmill burning cash

Most brands measure success by how many new customers they acquire

They should measure success by how many customers they keep

Because lifetime value beats transaction value every single time

A customer who buys once for $50 is worth $50

A customer who buys 5 times for $50 is worth $250

Simple math that most brands ignore

Stop optimizing for one-time buyers

Start optimizing for repeat buyers
