Climate Pledge Friendly badges are now affecting organic rank. And I'm watching

Climate Pledge Friendly badges are now affecting organic rank.
And I'm watching sellers completely miss this opportunity.
Here's what's happening:
Amazon's 2026 algorithm uses "sustainability preference matching."
If a buyer has previously purchased eco-friendly products, Amazon boosts rankings for other Climate Pledge Friendly items in their search results.
This isn't speculation. It's documented in Amazon's seller forums and we're seeing it in client data.
Example from last week:
Home goods client got Climate Pledge certification for 2 of their 8 SKUs.
Those 2 SKUs saw:
→ 22% increase in organic impressions
→ 18% increase in conversion rate
→ Lower ad costs (CPCs dropped 14%)
Why the conversion bump?
Because Amazon is showing those products to people who CARE about sustainability.
Better audience match = better conversion.
But here's where most sellers screw this up:
They get the badge and do NOTHING with it creatively.
The badge appears in search results, sure.
But if your main image doesn't reinforce the sustainability story?
If your bullets don't mention eco-friendly materials?
If your A+ content doesn't show the sustainable packaging?
You're leaving money on the table.
Here's the strategy we're using:
Audit which products qualify (recyclable packaging, reduced carbon footprint, etc.)
Get the certification (it's free if you meet requirements)
Update ALL creative assets to reinforce the sustainability message
Add sustainability story to A+ content
Test messaging in PPC to see if "eco-friendly" angles improve CTR
Not every product needs this.
But if you're in categories where buyers care (home, baby, beauty, grocery)?
This is low-hanging fruit for ranking and conversion improvements.
Amazon is telling you exactly what they're prioritizing.
Most sellers aren't listening.
