Luck did not save this seller's catalog 🍀
Every March 17th people wear green, raise a glass, and wait for good things to happen. Some Amazon sellers treat their catalog the same way.
The sellers who consistently win stopped waiting for lucky breaks a long time ago. They just build cleaner systems than everyone else.
Here is what that looks like in practice.
A US-only seller woke up to two ASINs with adult restriction flags and zero search visibility. No content had changed. No policy violation had been filed. Nothing in US Seller Central pointed to a cause.
So as the logic approach they thought the solution was to fix the US listing. That instinct was wrong.
The thing is Amazon's FBA settings include a program called "Allow Amazon to buy my products to sell globally." Every eligible FBA seller is can be enrolled at account creation so Amazon can list your products in its global stores without notifying you. Most sellers have never opened that setting.
In this case, Amazon held the retail offer in Australia, Singapore, and Japan. Its internal catalog systems classified the card game ASINs under adult browse nodes in all three markets. That foreign classification generated a flag that suppressed the US listing entirely.
The cause was in three countries the seller did not know they were selling in.
Every correction attempt on the US side would have changed nothing. The suppression source lived outside the US catalog, and the resolution required opening individual cases in each affected marketplace before the US flag could be cleared.
This is the kind of problem that costs weeks when you are working through it alone.
The full case, including the complete resolution path and every step that cleared the suppression, is in this week's OSS Lab:

🍀 Some sellers are still looking for a four-leaf clover. Others already subscribe to OSS Lab.
♻️ Repost so other FBA sellers can check their global store settings before this happens to them.
