📊 Amazon is not winning because it’s the cheapest option.
It’s winning because it offers unmatched selection and convenience.
When a customer walks into a retail store, their choices are limited.
They may see:
🧩 Two or three variations of a product
⏱ Limited inventory on the shelf
🚗 The need to physically go to the store
On Amazon, that same customer can:
🔍 Search across hundreds of variations
📦 Get delivery same day or next day
🎯 Find exactly what they are looking for
This is a critical insight for Amazon sellers.
Customers are often willing to pay a higher price if they can find the exact product that meets their needs.
That means pricing is not always the primary lever.
Selection is.
The most successful sellers understand this and focus on:
📊 Identifying high demand keywords
🎯 Building products around specific use cases
🧠 Creating variations that align with what customers are already searching for
For example, a customer might not just want a “wooden puzzle.”
They might want:
🔢 A puzzle with numbers
🐘 A puzzle with animals
🎵 A puzzle with musical themes
Each of those represents a different opportunity.
This is why product research is not about guessing.
It is about understanding search behavior and demand at a granular level.
When you align your product with what customers are already searching for, you increase both conversion and long-term scalability.

Question: when you evaluate a product, are you thinking about price first or selection depth?
