This is going to ruffle some feathers:
If you don’t offer creative management?
STOP calling yourself a full service agency.
I’m serious.
⤷ It’s really, really bad & kinda scammy.
Here’s what I mean:
There are A TON of agencies in the e-commerce space. And there are A TON of them that call themselves full service.
Reality?
⤷ You’re probably not.
I see it all the time.
Agencies that farm out their PPC.
Agencies that let software run the show.
Agencies that don’t handle compliance.
Agencies that cannot handle 1P accounts.
And the worst one?
⤷ Agencies that don’t do creative.
Sigh.
How the hell can you be full service and not handle creative for your clients?
Change your name to - I don’t know - something like “Software Button Pushing Agency.”
I’m being silly - but also I’m not.
You have your focused agencies:
→ Advertising agencies
→ Creative agencies
But then there is that gray area of “full service” where people just use it because they aren’t sure what to call themselves.
Side note - I literally see this one agency all the time running ads on a creative audit WHEN THEY DO NOT EVEN HAVE A CREATIVE TEAM.
Wild? Yes it is.
This rant is heading somewhere. I promise.
I speak to brands all the time. And do you know the number one thing that I hear from them that gets them the most fatigued?
Agency fatigue.
They went with one agency.
They were promised the world.
They were told they would get full service.
⤷ They got halfsies service.
Left and went to another one with high hopes.
And rinse/repeat.
If you are a brand out shopping for a true full service agency, ask questions.
→ Do you handle ads? Is it software?
→ Do you handle creative? Who does the work?
→ Do you handle compliance? How fast?
→ Do you handle catalog management?
→ Do you handle review management?
→ Do you handle 1P/3P accounts?
→ Do you handle SEO? Human or AI?
Ask.
Ask.
⤷ Then ask again.
And then? Ask to meet the people who handle those areas that are important to you.
Don’t get the “flashy salesman” and get handed off to a brand manager that just learned what an ASIN was during your onboarding call.
At Velocity Sellers, we decommoditized ourselves from the entire industry.
How?
You like how I talk about creative.
You like how I present at conferences.
You like how I speak on YouTube about CTR.
You like how I show people education & value.
You work directly with me on your creative strategy & tactics.
No other agency does that.
⤷ Take it to the bank & fact check me.
The point here is do your due diligence for you brand, for your money, for your goals & for your basic sanity.
PS - here’s a picture of me waiting for an Uber at the Vegas airport at Prosper last week.
THAT is how you merchandise a basic & boring rideshare pickup area, folks.
