🚨Some of the most interesting product opportunities on Amazon are surprisingly simple.
Card games are a great example.
When you look at the physical product itself, the structure is straightforward:
🃏 Printed cards
📦 A small box
🎮 A defined rule system
Yet many of these games sell in the $20–$25 range.
The manufacturing cost for high-quality cards can be relatively low.
That creates an interesting margin profile.
The value isn’t really in the materials.
It’s in the concept.
A strong game idea, clear rules, and a well-positioned brand can turn a very simple product into something customers are excited to buy and share.
When I evaluate products like this, I’m thinking about three things.
🔎 Demand and search behavior
📊 Competitive positioning in the niche
🎮 How unique the experience is for the customer
Recently I started experimenting with using AI to help brainstorm game mechanics and rule systems.
It’s a useful tool for accelerating ideation and testing different gameplay concepts quickly.
The next step is validation.
Instead of just launching a product and hoping it works, we’re planning to test the game live with people first.
Play it. Refine the rules. Improve the experience.
Only after that do we move toward production.
That process dramatically reduces risk and improves the product before it ever reaches the market.
Question: when you evaluate a product opportunity, do you focus more on the physical product itself or the experience it creates for the customer?
