Visited the “samurai bartender” in Tokyo this week and it somehow made me think of Amazon strategy.

I’ve been wanting to go to Bar Centifolia forever and finally got in after waiting an hour at midnight just to make reservation for next night at midnight.

The drinks were super expensive for Japan but I had zero regret and would have paid more even.

These guys have created demand for their product through influencer marketing (how I discovered them). Huge FOMO.

The experience itself as you can see from the video is next level. Stuff you don’t see at other bars. Amazing customer service.

The quality of the drinks is great too.

You don’t always have to have a price race to the bottom to win on Amazon either.

Use influencer marketing to create demand for your product. Have a great and unique experience on your listing and packaging and have an actually good product. Charge a high price that doesn’t see high, but worth it.

I pay way more for neurogum than other gums for the same reason. And you probably do same for some products.

Icing on the cake for this experience was getting him to throw up the “Helium 10s” at the end.
