Amazon API calls don't work like Stripe or Shopify. Here's the trap.

With Stripe, you call the API. Payment succeeds. Boom — you proceed.

With Shopify, you publish an article. Click submit. Get immediate response.

Amazon? Different beast entirely.

...

You submit a patch listing request. Amazon says "accepted."

You think it worked.

Five hours later — error notification. The listing change failed for reasons Amazon never documented properly.

...

This is why most Amazon automation tools break.

They treat Amazon APIs like normal APIs. They don't build for Amazon's distributed, asynchronous reality.

Things don't happen right away. They happen in waves across different systems at different times.

...

After managing $550M+ in Amazon sales, here's what we learned:

You need jobs. You need queues. You need monitoring systems that check back hours later.

Because "accepted" doesn't mean successful on Amazon.

It means "we'll try... eventually... maybe."

...

What Amazon automation frustrations have you dealt with?
