Imagine going from 700 units a day to 20.

With no suppression. No policy flag. No error message. The listing was live, the category path was correct, and Seller Central showed nothing wrong.

The only thing missing was the BSR.

Most operators would open a ticket and wait, assume it's a display glitch, or that assume it resolves by itself.

This one did not resolve. And the longer it stayed broken, the more organic visibility this brand lost, permanently.

What made this case unusual was not the symptom. It was where the failure was hiding.

The detail page told a clean story. Active ASIN, correct category, sales still coming in. Everything a seller checks first pointed to normal. The problem was in a catalog attribute that does not appear anywhere in standard Seller Central views, cannot be edited through the usual tools, and can be changed by a data augmentor.

By the time the case reached us, we were looking at a rank outage caused by a single field falling out of sync. One attribute. No visible trace. Near-complete collapse of organic sales.

The fix existed. Getting there required knowing exactly what to ask for and who inside Amazon's support structure actually has access to the tool that resolves it.

This week's case walks through the full diagnostic, the backend attribute behind the failure, and the exact escalation path that restored the rank.

If you have an active ASIN that lost its BSR without explanation, this case is worth reading before you open another support ticket.
