💻 One of the biggest misconceptions about Amazon is that it’s simply an eCommerce platform.

In reality, Amazon is a search engine.

Customers don’t browse randomly. They search using keywords. And each keyword is its own competitive battlefield.

For example, “diaper bag” is not one market.

It breaks into sub-niches like:

Backpack diaper bags

Tote diaper bags

Travel diaper bags

Clutch style diaper bags

Each sub-niche has different demand, different best sellers, and different opportunity.

This is where sellers either reduce risk or increase it.

The sellers who win don’t just ask, “Is this category big?”

They ask:

How are current sellers getting their sales?

Which keywords drive the volume?

Where is demand non branded vs branded?

Where can I realistically compete and differentiate?

When you analyze at the keyword and sub-niche level, you can design a better product and build a more realistic launch strategy.

âť“ Question: When evaluating a new product, are you looking at keyword level demand or just overall category demand?
