At some point, Amazon is going to partner more deeply with LLMs.
Which might actually make Prime more powerful than ever.
Imagine asking an LLM for a product recommendation, deciding to buy inside the conversation, and checking out instantly with Prime shipping.
That combination is powerful. It's fast decision-making + trusted fulfillment + familiar Prime promise.
Now this is where I think things get interesting for DTC brands. Because if LLMs become the front door for shopping, then:
- Discovery doesn’t have to start on Amazon
- Conversion doesn’t have to happen on Amazon
- But fulfillment and trust still feel like Amazon
From Amazon’s side, this is a huge win. It gives them a way to grow Buy with Prime adoption, and extend their reach beyond the marketplace.
I don’t think this happens overnight. But long-term, the winning stack might look like:
- LLM-driven discovery
- Direct checkout
- Prime shipping
Curious how others are thinking about this.
Do you see Buy with Prime becoming more important outside of Amazon as AI-driven shopping grows?
