ACoS is not the goal.
It’s an input.
A useful one.
But still just an input.
TACoS forces the truth.
Because this happens all the time:
ACoS goes down.
Everyone celebrates.
Meanwhile…
TACoS quietly goes up.
Why?
Because you’re:
• Funding low-margin growth
• Paying for keywords that never convert
• Buying traffic that looks good in dashboards and terrible in P&Ls
Ads don’t fix themselves.
They fix when you:
• Cut click-no-sale spend without emotion
• Reallocate budget to proven economics
• Set a TACoS target tied directly to margin, not vibes
Pretty dashboards don’t pay payroll.
Profitable systems do.
If TACoS isn’t part of your decision-making, you’re guessing with money.
