Amazon just added a "silent tax" on every seller.

They're charging $1,400/year for API access.

And that started on January 31.

The same access that's been free since 2009.

Here's what everyone's missing:

This isn't an Amazon problem.

→ It's a wake-up call.

Most sellers are paying for 8-12 tools.

Actually using?

2.

The rest?

⤷ Dashboard tourism.

□ Your repricing tool will pass this fee to you.

□ Your analytics platform will pass this fee to you.

□ Your inventory software will pass this fee to you.

Suddenly that $50/month tool?

It will cost $175.

Before you panic, ask one question:

"Does this tool actually increase my revenue?"

🚫 Not "provide insights."

🚫 Not "give me data."

↑ Increase. Revenue.

If the answer is anything but yes, cut it.

Brands that win in 2026?

They'll spend less on software.

And more on what actually converts.

✓ Better hero images.

✓ A+ content that closes.

✓ Scroll-stopping creatives.

Amazon just made your tech stack decision easier.
