$60 CPM with ZERO conversion data?
OpenAI just announced they're charging advertisers 3x Meta's rates:
$60 per 1,000 views on ChatGPT.
And they won't tell you if anyone actually bought anything.
This is EXACTLY the problem I've been screaming about with Amazon DSP for years.
Now OpenAI wants you to pay premium rates for "high-level data" like total views and clicks.
Of course that means no attribution to purchases, no CAC tracking, and certainly no revenue lift measurement.
At this point it's not advertising anymore, it's like donating to a tech company and hoping for the best.
At Prime Team Agency, we won't even touch DSP campaigns unless we have AMC data showing REAL conversion paths and true incremental lift.
The same standard applies here.
If OpenAI wants to charge 3X Meta's CPM, they need to deliver 3X better ROAS.
Or at minimum, connect ad views to actual purchase behavior on Amazon, Shopify, or DTC sites.
Until then, this is just another shiny toy that agencies can waste client money on.
My advice to brands: stay far away until there's real performance data.
You can't optimize in the dark. And you definitely can't justify $60 CPMs on hope.
