Friend: “so you’re a scumbag recruiter now?”
Me: “no, I’m not a recruiter. That term isn’t befitting of what we’re doing.”
Friend: “you’re definitely still a scumbag though”
Me: “I appreciate your vote of confidence. But still no.
I think recruiters get a bad rep. Probably due to their pricing model. Combined with the hounding that many of often experienced.
Because we make our margin every month that a candidate stays placed, we’re 100% incentivised to create long last partnerships. If a candidate leaves a month after probation, that’s awful news for us. Whereas a recruiter often still gets paid.
We’re placing candidates with the intention that they’ll stay hired for 2, 3, 4+ years.
This week I even suggested the client had another interview, even though they’d signalled they wanted to hire. Just so they’d be absolutely sure. And I gave them a couple of pointers on extra questions to ask to ensure it’s a perfect fit.
The best recruiters will do this too. Of course.
Which is why we share similarities with the top recruiters.
But because of our pricing model. And the fact we literally hire for only SENIOR AMAZON AD MANAGERS. We’re unique in our offer.
We’re a talent partner. And partner is a a suitable term because the placed candidate still speaks with us every week as part of the Pare Community they join (all experts, one weekly call, and community feed).
So my friend is partially wrong. I’m not a scumbag from a business perspective at least.
