A haircare brand is currently looking for "4+ years’ experience directly managing Amazon Seller/Vendor Central accounts (agency or in-house)."

They're happy to pay $140k-160k per year. Plus annual bonuses.

And I'm here to tell them, and maybe you, that you're overpaying $100k/year.

Every day I'm reviewing Amazon advertising job posts. And there's this common theme.

Either companies are happy to put someone with 2 years Amazon ppc experience in their business to manage their own or clients budget.

Or they're looking at 4+ years and are budgeting over $100k salary.

The similarities are that they're all looking for local talent.

I'm here to say that for the last 9 years I've worked with global teams, often based in India, to manage Amazon Advertising for brands who have up to $200m+/year businesses on Amazon.

The talent is highly qualified. The skills are there.

Yes, there are some cultural differences which cannot be shaken for some brands to work with such people directly.

But the skillset and work ethic is 100% there.

And if you, as a brand who's perhaps wrestling with Amazon margins (who isn't?), are about to overpay $100k/year for one headcount, I'd seriously consider having conversations with global talent.

Imagine opening up $10k/month in additional advertising budget? What impact could that have?

Or just putting it in your pocket.

Food for thought this Saturday morning.
