"we're currently paying $6k/month to them".
This is a call I had today with a multinational brand selling across circa 7 Amazon markets. They've been using a local agency. And whilst performance is ok, it's not really moving. Just steady. And the fee has gone up when Amazon ads launched a new feature.
Having run an Amazon agency I'm very aware of the position this current agency will be in. they can't dedicate more time because they either a) have to increase the fee again or b) make less profit.
unless they put someone junior on the account. but then they also run the risk of mistakes and performance being impacted.
it's actually tough for agencies in this position. but it's not great for brands either. because big brands simply need senior amazon ppc managers putting lots of time in. that will improve performance if nothing else is wrong.
amazon is getting easier and harder. they give us more tools. more levers to pull. experiments to run.
but with each of these it requires more time to use, pull, run them.
and in many situations, there just isn't enough time available.
this quote from a client summarises the problem brilliantly:
"For the first time in our Amazon journey (8 years and counting) we can allow ourselves to conduct micro-management of our PPC efforts. On top of this with more granular optimization, stronger follow-ups and clear accountability. Before we had a lot of "we don't have time for that" which does not exist anymore."
with Pare and a full time in-house manager, YOU DO HAVE TIME FOR THAT.
and with most roles starting at $3k/month, you can save $36k/year too.
