Too many recruiters in the Amazon/eCommerce space optimise for their own fees, not for the client.
That’s why they push overpriced US hires - juniors on $80–100k/year - while ignoring regions where the very best senior talent actually sits.
A better approach is simple: focus first on quality and seniority.
Only candidates with 4+ years’ Amazon PPC experience, proven track records with significant spend, and fluent client-facing communication should make it through. That’s the baseline.
When you then widen the search globally, you find the same calibre of strategist available at $2.5–3.5k/month.
The difference isn’t quality - it’s geography.
Payroll, compliance, and training can all be bundled in, which strips out complexity for the hiring company.
And critically, the commercial model should be aligned with outcomes. Not a 20–25% smash-and-grab fee upfront, but a flat monthly structure where the provider only wins if the hire stays and performs. That way the incentive is to place the right candidate, not the fastest fee.
The smartest providers go one step further: ongoing training. Weekly expert-led sessions, structured playbooks, and continuous skill upgrades mean the hire keeps getting better instead of stagnating. That reduces churn risk and compounds value for the business.
In short, the right model delivers senior strategists faster, at a fairer global rate, with aligned incentives and continuous development. Anything else is just paying more for less.
I want to change the Amazon recruitment model.
