Does anyone else as an owner get mild anxiety that you snd your team aren’t keeping up with ai? And using it to be more efficient, lower costs, and improve performance?

We’ve famously had 1 weekly call at our Amazon ads agency.

Being a big believer in less meetings more client work.

That weekly call is entirely dedicated to what you learned over the last 7 days.

The only small edit now is how it’s mostly ai focused.

This week it was ways to improve some CustomGPT’s we have by referencing another source that isn’t the “instructions” bit - we’re playing with said source but it’s GitHub or Supabase atm.

Ive also spent a lot of time this month teaching the team Lovable. So they can build their own ai powered apps in a day. And the best way to connect multiple data sources and ai, to ensure simple prompts refer to super prompts, resulting in far superior outputs. Example: great dashboards with recs for the demographic data available, by simply uploading 3 spreadsheets.

With other parts of the business anxiety creeps in if I’m not having the weekly learnings piece. Say with virtual assistants I work with.

And with anyone paid per hour, they’ve got literally zero incentive to be more efficient to save hours - right?

And they’re lower cost per hour, so you don’t get too concerned, but the grievance is still present.

But you just can’t quite get round to it. To dig into those daily tasks, find ways to be more efficient or improve output, and then rewrite the SOP.

This month we quietly launched a service called Talent Hub.

In short it’s a mix of recruitment service and advertising agency. For full time hires overseas, starting from $2000/m.

70%+ lower than agency fees for 4X the time/service.

It’s a mix of recruitment and agency, because agencies bring so much value by working on multiple accounts and having multiple ad managers.

We spoke with our initial partner who’s starting with their first full timer next week, and they mentioned ongoing ai training. Upskilling.

Their headcount will also be in our weekly learnings call. And get free access to everything our team has built and will build in the future. Plus be able to seek advice from our senior team members.

All agency benefits. But in-house.

Part of me thinks, if I’m honest, this is a dumb idea. Because I should just charge agency fees and a $2000/m headcount can generate more than $10,000 revenue.

But I asked myself, what’s not going to change?

1/ Margins aren’t going to get bigger for brands. It’s gonna constantly get shaved (china, tariffs, amazon fees, ad costs).

2/ hiring full time in house people overseas is always going to be daunting for people. Ai is making it harder in some regard (Upwork proposals eugh).

3/ Ai anxiety that your team aren’t upskilling themselves. Especially if they’re hourly.
