I've started thinking about designing for amazon using code as a starting point, rather than design.
Obviously that is possible with Figma and ai now.
The reason for this is when it's in code it's infinitely easier to quality check.
Cus I can create a set of rules for ai to follow and run through my designs.
Equally resizing becomes very easy
And changing platform (Walmart) too.
A lot of design time at our agency comes from the manager reviewing design work.
Some of this is going to be replaced by following a set of rules.
Design is just not overcomplicated. 99% of it is foundational stuff (think housing foundation and house plans).
Then the fluffy nice stuff on top is the 1%.
An important 1%, but redundant without the 99.
I've started testing this by making a creative brief with a new GPT i built. Then spitting that brief into an actual website.
I share the website with the client so they can review the brief there.
Then we go into Figma to build the design.
But this week I'll now dig more into documenting my design rules, boundaries you may also call them, and when creating with ai ensuring those guidelines are approved by another ai step.
