I’ve called out both Kevin King and Joanna Lambadjieva this week for ai creatives.

Both very smart people who bring so much value to the industry, you should follow them.

But I’ve called them out for creatives.

Something I’ve spent 4 years collecting examples of now.

Here’s my take on ai images I posted on Joanna’s recent update:

“I’m not sure on image 2.

As a lifestyle, yes. Absolutely. But I just don’t see any value at all in using ai for placing copy in the image right now.

It doesn’t scale. It’s typically not on brand so lacks consistency. And it’s slow to change.

Ditch the copy and create an additional step in this process which is to bring the lifestyle into a design template (we have hundreds) and then build something that’s scalable. Your cost per design (CPD?) will go down because of it.”

This lesson can be applied by anyone.

At GB Media we’re better than any other agency at scaling high quality designs, primarily using Figma. Lowering your cost per design (CPD).

Cus we get paid a flat fee for unlimited output, we have to be efficient.

And ai is not efficient to scale, yet.

Use it as a tool. A tool alongside other tools.

Sorry Kevin and Joanna
