This is a bad infographic from a top selling product.

Let me explain:

Imagine this image is broken up into 100 squares (100%)

How many squares does each layer take up?

A small amount, right? Both with the heading text side and paragraph.

What this means?

It’s just hard to read.

This creates what you might call a road block.

A hurdle in the way for the customer.

Supermarkets put the products they want to sell most, near the checkout and front of the store.

Why?

Because it’s got the lowest blockers to buying. You literally dont have to walk as far.

Tip: open your infographic on mobile. On Amazon. And hold your phone 1 foot away.

Easy?

If it’s not, increase the size, or change the entire image (show don’t tell).

Another way I think about it, just to reinforce the point beyond belief, is like motorway/highway signs.

They don’t make them hard to read, because you’re going 100kph.
