I've held the same Amazon belief for several years.

Success can be explained with a simple 3 step approach.

1st. Get your operational base right. You can't grow successfully if you go OOS often or are not Prime.

2nd. Get your brand touch points right. Every touch point a customer has with you is an opportunity to move closer or further away from converting.

3rd. Get your paid traffic right. Every dollar you spend is either contributing towards sales, in some capacity, or wasted. Some capacity covers things like experiments. As that's not a waste, but it might not garner a sale.

If you try and ascend to the level above without completing the one you're on, it is impossible to build a long-term sustainably profitable Amazon business, and grow.

Most brands try and do that though.

Even the very biggest.

Normally skipping operations and branding. Because advertising is exciting af and it's all anyone talks about.

My rugby coach always used to say, do the basics right and you'll win today.

Amazon is much the same. Do the basics very very well. And you will win. In your own little Amazon game.

Are you doing the basics right?
