Sunday musing: 90% of coffee shops are awful coffee makers.
Since making the switch to only long black. And watching 800h of YouTube videos on Breville home coffee making. I’ve become an ok coffee maker.
As a result, I’m noticing most cafes don’t obsess over one key aspect that makes them a cafe. Making coffee.
This lack of obsession is negligent. There able to getaway with it because most have milk in their coffees, disguising a poor pour.
If I ran a cafe I’d obsess over this key aspect. Among many other pieces, such as comfort levels of chairs. And never having stalls because they’re grim to sit on.
I’m not saying all cafes are bad. Some are sensational. And you know what? Everyone says they are.
I’m not even going to get into the lack of creativity in UK cafes in comparison to Australian. Another post another day.
