I'd make a lot more money if I didn't do any of this stuff.
But I do it anyway.
Every mentor, business owner, guru, etc, would tell me so focus on the business that drives the highest profit.
This would be our advertising management service.
If I slogged away hour after hour making case studies, pitching in DMs, tweaking CRMs, cold calling, or whatever you wanna do
We'd have a much more successful Amazon ads agency.
I don't do that.
Why?
In short, I don't love doing those things all the time.
I love finding an interesting thing, then throwing myself into building something for a period.
This month that's a chrome extension for taking the perfect A+ screenshot, and building an Amazon news feed.
I'm genuinely logging in each morning and excited cus I've reached 49 downloads today.
Why am I saying this?
The business is growing. I want the business to grow. The team are exceptional and our retention is great.
But I will never see the point in spending all of your time doing something you might not love right now.
Next month, January 1st, I might be enthused about building a monster pipeline and perfecting our audit process, again (that was September's obsession).
I'm simply doing what I want to do. Rather than what's best for KPIs.
I'm not taking the handbrake off on every other part. I'm aware that everything leads back to higher traffic, better reputation, etc, and in turn more business. I'm not a complete idiot.
But I fear there might be far too many founders out there really not enjoying most of their day. Or at least not admitting it.
